Charles Loeb, a World War II reporter for America’s Black newspapers, saw through the War Dept.’s disinformation about the radiation effects on people of the atomic bombings of Japan. A key agent in misinforming Americans about that radiation was William “Atomic Bill” Laurence of our own New York Times.
