Though it may seem as though Latinos never get enough representation in media, many popular actors from successful shows are actually Latinos themselves. Whether it be in movies or television, Latinos can be found in entertainment whether they play Latinos or not.

Frankie Muniz

Believe it or not, Frankie Muniz from “Malcolm in the Middle” is actually a Latino. With Puerto Rican ancestry on his father’s side, Muniz was a very popular actor in the 2000s appearing in films like “Agent Cody Banks” and “Big Fat Liar.” Though all of the characters he has portrayed on-screen have been white, Muniz is proud of his Puerto Rican heritage and isn’t afraid to show it.

Demi Lovato

Though it may be more well-known now, some may be surprised to find out that “Sonny with a Chance” star Demi Lovato is a Latina. Lovato is Mexican and her father’s side and has played Latinas numerous times from Mitchie Torres in “Camp Rock” and Princess Rosalinda in “Princess Protection Program.” Along with her acting, Lovato has shown her pride in her heritage by singing in Spanish with songs like “Echame la Culpa” and “Lo Que Soy,” a Spanish rendition of the “Camp Rock” song, “This Is Me.”

Alexis Bledel

Though you probably couldn’t tell from looking at her, “Gilmore Girls” star Alexis Bledel is a Latina. Bledel is both Argentinean and Mexican even having Spanish as her first language. Due to her looks, she isn’t cast as a Latina she stills shows her pride and is happy to mention it in interviews.

Bella Thorne

Though she has played the daughter of Adam Sandler and Rob Riggle, Bella Thorne is actually a proud Latina. The “Shake It Up” star is Cuban on her father’s side and loves to mention it in interviews. Even though she doesn’t always play a Latina, Thorne makes sure to take pride in her heritage.

Tatyana Ali

Everyone remembers actress Tatyana Ali from her role as Ashley Banks in “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” but many probably didn’t know she is also a Latina. Panamanian on her mother’s side, Ali said she was very confused about her background as a child. However, as she has gotten older, Ali has embraced her heritage more.

Victoria Justice

For years, Victoria Justice was one of Nickelodeon’s biggest stars being in popular shows such as “Zoey 101” and “Victorious.” But, many probably didn’t know that she was a Latina. On her father’s side, Justice is Puerto Rican and both of her characters on Nickelodeon, Lola Martinez in “Zoey 101” and Tori Vega in “Victorious,” reflected this. She may not always be playing a Latina but she is constantly talking about how she loves her heritage.
