‘Smile’ came out from the time when I wasn’t ready to smile, says Katy Perry

Katy Perry shares the memories of her darkest times and how those moments became a muse for her upcoming album ‘Smile’.

Katy Perry, the ever smiling pop sensation is ready  to charm fans with her upcoming album ‘Smile’, she shared a snippet of it on Instagram on July 9th, but along with the post, she also opened up her heart about everything in her life that led her to create ‘Smile’. 

She revealed in the post that the title song of this album has been created from the darkest times of her life, it was the time when she didn’t wish to smile and it became difficult for her to see positivity in her life.  She considered this upcoming album of hers as the journey towards hope and love.

Earlier on a radio show in June also, Katy had expressed similar feelings.

“My career was on this trajectory when it was going up, up and up and then I had the smallest shift, not that huge from an outside perspective. But for me it was seismic”

She talked about the time when her last album ‘Witness’ under performed and then, she broke up with Orlando Bloom. Perry said that these two life events broke her to the core but then there were some learning as well that kind of saved her.

Overwhelmed with this revelation from Katy, her fans are eagerly waiting for Friday, August 14, when the album is set to release. Katy is very positive about ‘Smile’ and she had said in interviews that by the means of this album, she wants to spread some optimism and encouragement among people because that’s what she enjoys the most.
