Vertical Entertainment released a trailer today for a new documentary called “Robin’s Wish” that will release on September 1st. Directed by Tylor Norwood, the film will reportedly share what the Award-winning actor, Robin Williams was facing in the days leading to his death in 2014.
The trailer opens with old footage of Williams doing what he did best, making people laugh. The film will feature interviews with various friends and family of Williams including the actor’s widow Susan Schneider Williams, colleagues Shawn Levy, John R. Montgomery, and David E. Kelley.
“My husband had unknowingly been battling a deadly disease” said Susan during one interview featured in the trailer. The trailer shows that Williams was battling a neurodegenerative disorder up until his death, despite speculation from media about his death and financial concerns.
In the trailer, Susan explains that “in the midst of fear, he [Robin Williams] wanted to help people be less afraid.” The film will reportedly be released on Video On Demand, September 1st.
