| Dear Neighbor, During these past several weeks, we have seen some highs and lows as our community grapples with life during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The uncertainty of each day has brought undue stress and hardships for which none of us were prepared to endure. After experiencing tremendous losses, thousands of households are turning to local food pantries for help during this time of crisis. In response, several organizations and houses of worship have opened their doors to serve our community by expanding access to free, healthy, and nutritious food. Enclosed is a list of District 45 neighborhood pantry locations and their hours of operation. I want to thank all of the faith and community leaders as well as the volunteers who have dedicated countless hours to lending a helping hand by feeding others. These acts of kindness have brought hope to so many in despair. Now more than ever before, we must continue to uplift one another because the battle against COVID-19 can only be won together. Be safe and well. Sincerely, Farah N. LouisCouncil Member, District 45 |
