Rudimental and Anne-Marie hook up for “Come Over”
I felt like I was the last one in the know about this new single. I haven’t heard about Rudimental since it was March 2018 and they were dropping “Free” with Emilie Sandé and Anne-Marie is one of those people where I start listening to her knowing I recognize the song, but causes a cringeworthy moment when I realize it’s her. In better news though, in the same year, she teams up for with Lauv for the unappreciated “fuck, I’m lonely” while Rudimental has been taking off as a producer. Anne-Marie might sound familiar after FRIENDS with Marshmallow in the EDM world. “Come Over” is a pretty good song but it’s a little dry and repetitive, you start to really get those club vibes. It can easily be on a top 40 track list, and the Tion Wayne when he jumps on for a bit there, I like him but I don’t know how I feel about him here. He seems to be rapping to a bit of a different tempo.
And it doesn’t go unappreciated at the end of the day! “Come Over” is a light pop track that I am behind. The friendliness of the trio shows and I can only assume that it would make a great music video. Give this song a listen and let me know what you think in the comments below
