Disney+ silently integrates a watch party feature
With it still being risky to see others during this pandemic, Disney+ joins many other streaming services by adding a watch party feature that allows subscribers to watch with one another called GroupWatch.
Available for the service’s entire catalogue, subscribers can click on any title and click on the GroupWatch icon next to the Add to Watchlist icon to start a watch party. GroupWatch allows users to invite up to six of their friends to watch something together.

However, unlike most watch party features, GroupWatch doesn’t allow for sending typed messages. GroupWatch instead goes for using Emojis as reactions, most likely due to not wanting profanity to be typed on their kid-friendly platform.
With the addition of GroupWatch, Disney+ has added a feature that combines some of the best features of Netflix Party and Amazon Watch Party. Despite not having a text feature, GroupWatch provides in-app groupwatching and an iconic lineup of films and series.
