Who doesn’t like to watch shows from their phone, tablets, or computers? I’m sure we all know about Netflix, but if you don’t, they are a movie and TV streaming service that coast about $10/month. Today, we are going to be talking about one of their shows, Bookmarks.
What Is Bookmarks? Bookmarks is a show celebrating African American voices through their authors, books, and the people reading the books. Marley Dias, who at the last episode reads a book, is the host of this amazing show. She brings along more African American celebrities read books for African American kids, by African American authors to encourage them to do great things and not let the world define them!
Some of the books read are “I Love My Hair!” by Natasha Anastasia Tarpley and “I Am Enough” by Grace Byers. Byers also comes onto the show to read a book, but is it her own? You’ll have to go and find out yourself. Some of the celebrities who read these books are Karamo Brown, Marsai Martin, and Kendrick Sampson.
