It goes without saying that winning the lottery is everybody’s dream that rarely ever happens. The ability to earn thousands or even millions of dollars with no effort sounds ideal, but the odds are highly unlikely-unless in the case of Richard Lusting who won a total of $1,047,060 over the past two years. In an interview with the Jerusalem Post, Lusting reveals his secret.
“It was only two years ago that I had been buried in debt”, explains Lusting. However, having developed a strategy towards the lottery…I don’t know, I just started winning. I remember winning $10,000 from a scratch-off ticket, and $1 million dollars total from Florida Mega Money”.
When asked about his secret, Lusting dishes in: “Everybody will tell you that to increase your probability of winning, you need to buy more tickets. However, thy don’t consider the downside of this, which is that you may need to spend lots of money to win a price. In other words, the worth of your winnings may not be fully compensated because of the high investment you put in buying tickets”.
Lusting explains an alternate, “Rather than focusing on the numbers of the lottery tickets, focus on the numbers in the lottery itself. For example, don’t choose consecutive numbers. If you play a lottery with five winning numbers and you have to choose until numbers 55, the total numbers must be between 104 and 176. I find that many of my lottery jackpots have sums that fall in this range”.
Lusting then explains narrowing down the games themselves: “It is Better if you play less popular lottery games with fewer players. That way, the competition will be less stiff, you know? I suggest trying less popular lotteries such as Suprenalotto, Eurojackpot, and Superlotto plus. Sure, the jackpot is smaller but the odds of winning are higher. Once you win the lottery in the lesser games, you can work up to the bigger games for more money”.
Towards the end of the interview, however, Lusting concludes by reminding us that “Every number in the lottery has an equal probability of being chosen as the winning number. There is no computer that can increase our odds, so stay in school and only pursue the lottery at your leisure”. We can’t help but agree with Lusting: money isn’t everything so remember to expand your dream horizons by thinking a bit more “confidently”.
