The video of Isiah Lee approaching comedian Dave Chappelle with a knife in hand has become viral amongst numerous social media platforms. After attempting to stab Chapelle, Lee was taken backstage where he was handcuffed to a gurney and sent to an emergency room. Numerous bruises and cuts were visible along Lee’s face while Chapelle was left relatively unscathed. However, the event did not stop Hollywood from mocking and commentating the incident and hip-hop artist 50 cent is no exception:
“Look at this fool’s head, LOL I bet that’s the last time he’s gonna run on stage”, the “P.I.M.P” star wrote on Twitter. “Wonder what the LGBTQ Community is gonna say about this? This is not a good look”. Above this tweet, the rapper posted a picture of Lee being taken away. His hair was rather distraught and he had one eye open.
“We care deeply about the safety of our creators and we strongly defend the right of stand-up comedians to perform on stage without fear of violence”, says Netflix in response to the backlash. “The performances by Chappelle at the Hollywood Bowl were epic and record-breaking and he refuses to allow last night’s incident to overshadow the magic of this historic moment.”
The crew of “Netflix is a Joke” festival, however, remains silent despite the event occurring at that specific festival. Still, 50 Cent will never lose an opportunity to throw shades at someone and many users have retweeted his comment, adding input such as “How did this dude get a knife past security? The last time we went to Chapelle’s shows, they were locking up their phones. Security there sucks”.
