Fresh off the release of his latest album ATTICA! and his brand new video for TYSON, he dropped his latest single HA! on September 30th. He will also be announcing his new EP (Due out Early 2023) alongside the song. Would you be up for sharing the song/his upcoming EP/covering $Z in general?
$Z expertly combines club and house beats, aggressive, bass boosted 2010s esque soundcloud tracks, and phonk and to create some of the catchiest, wildest rap that I’ve had the pleasure of listening to this year. HA! is a perfect distillation of his sound and fleshes it out even further with tempo changes and clean vocals.

Here’s the story so far with $Z: He broke out in 2019 with his Tokyo Drift sampling hit “Buster” (Currently sitting at 70 million streams on Spotify as well as close to 17 million views on Youtube). Following this, he dropped several tapes throughout both 2019 and 2020 to build up his catalogue. This brings us to 2022 and ATTICA!, a brash and crazy blast of energy and my personal favorite release of his so far. Seriously, check out “YAKUZA,” “I’M NAMING THIS SONG DRIFT!,” “WEDO,” “THE LIFE YOU SAVE MIGHT BE MINE,” and “LOS ANGELES.” They are all heaters and sum up $Z’s sound perfectly. The coolest part of ATTICA! in my opinion though is the intro track, which has Memphis hip hop legend DJ Paul reciting one of Muhammad Ali’s poems about the Attica prison riot. In addition to all of that, he showed that he can dabble with rock stylings with his notable feature on Sophie Powers’ U Love It.
