If you’ve never heard of Tanner Adell, you’re definitely slacking! She’s one of the most dynamic, intriguing artists on the country scene, and her recent single “See You in Church” will show you exactly why. The song celebrates all aspects of Tanner’s personality while refusing to dim any facet of who she is to fit in, breaking down her weekly schedule as it concludes with church on Sunday. It’s simply brilliant, playing on classic country themes with a fresh spin that only Tanner could deliver.
“Growing up in a strict religious household, ‘See You in Church’ was a confessional,” Tanner tells TREMG. “No matter the craziness of the week, I was always back in church on Sunday.”
With every song she’s put out, you can really feel who Tanner is as both an artist and a person, exerting such a fun energy that will make you want to be her best friend instead of just a fan. It’s down-to-earth and genuine, while still delivering some glitz and glam with a healthy dose of sass. Songs like “FU-150” feel like a stroke of lyrical genius, combining zingers to an ex with an unapologetic, unbothered confidence that anyone can find admiration for.
“‘FU-150’ is a great intro into Tanner Adell,” Tanner explains. “It’s got plenty of hip-hop, classic country sounds and lyrics, with sparkling pop vocals. It’s the best of all worlds and very much so encapsulates me as a person!”
If one thing is clear, it’s that 2023 is certainly the year of Tanner Adell. Between singles like “See You in Church,” the release of her Buckle Bunny mixtape on July 21st, and various live shows, she’s paving a glittery path for herself as one of modern country’s standout superstars. Meanwhile, she’s building an unbreakable bond with her fans, who eagerly wait for every release and hype her up every step of the way.
“I take my live shows very seriously,” Tanner shares. “We’re on a small scale right now, but I can’t wait for my fans to create their own culture and community within themselves. When I’m creating the setlist, that’s who I’m thinking about. How do my songs best suit the experience of the listener? How do I deliver the best bang for their buck?”

Hi Tanner, congrats on your recent single, “See You in Church!” What does the song mean to you?
Growing up in a strict religious household, “See You in Church” was a confessional. No matter the craziness of the week, I was always back in church on Sunday.
“See You in Church” has so many fun lyrics that really show off your personality, like “I’m like a Grace Kelly in a cowboy hat.” Is there a certain line on the song that you’re especially proud of?
My favorite line is the same! Grace Kelly, a princess and a style icon, has always inspired my personal style, but I always add my twist, like a cowboy hat!
Fans can’t wait for your upcoming “Buckle Bunny” single, which must be so exciting! What has it been like for you to see the hype for the song?
I am blessed to have so much support and patience from my listeners and I’m SO excited for them to have it in their hands and in their heads!
Speaking of “Buckle Bunny,” you recently got some rude comments on a post promoting your Buckle Bunnies playlist, but you’ve shaken it off so well and even made a moment out of it on TikTok! What advice would you give to someone who isn’t sure how to shrug off those types of comments?
Everyone is going to have their opinion. All I can do is be myself.
You’ll be releasing your Buckle Bunny mixtape on July 21st, and we can’t wait to hear it! What has it been like for you to put the project together, and which songs are you most excited for fans to hear?
Obviously, “Buckle Bunny” is the HIGHLIGHT of the year, but there are two songs fans haven’t heard yet and I know they’ll just love. “Strawberry crush” and “Bake It” have become some of my favorites.
You’ll also be playing a string of shows this summer, including at Windy City Smokeout and the Ogden County Fair! How do you prepare for a show, and what do you think about when you’re choosing your setlists?
I take my live shows very seriously. We’re on a small scale right now, but I can’t wait for my fans to create their own culture and community within themselves. When I’m creating the setlist, that’s who I’m thinking about. How do my songs best suit the experience of the listener? How do I deliver the best bang for their buck?
For anyone who isn’t familiar with your music already, which of your songs would you recommend to them to get a feel for who you are as an artist?
“FU-150” is a great intro into Tanner Adell. It’s got plenty of hip-hop, classic country sounds and lyrics, with sparkling pop vocals. It’s the best of all worlds and very much so encapsulates me as a person!
What can your fans look forward to in the rest of 2023?
LOTS OF LIVE SHOWS!!
