The current political climate in the United States has been plagued by a seemingly endless stream of lies and deception from those in positions of power. It’s no secret that politicians are often less than truthful, but the level of dishonesty and manipulation that has become the norm in recent years is truly unprecedented. At the forefront of this trend are conservative leaders and media figures who have mastered the art of deception and have turned it into a dangerous weapon in their quest for power and control.
We pulled some interesting sections from the AP News report today.

In the texts, she bemoaned the state of American politics and called the election a “heist.” Thomas told the panel she still feels there were election irregularities, but she does believe that Joe Biden is the president of the United States.
While Thomas urged Meadows to act, and she is married to one of nine Supreme Court justices who were at the time reviewing Trump’s election challenges, investigators did not believe she played a major role in Trump’s efforts to overturn the election or his inaction as the violent insurrection unfolded.
Thomas characterized herself as an “instigator” of Groundswell and other conservative advocacy groups that have met weekly as a coalition for years. She and her husband are longtime associates of conservative lawyer John Eastman, an architect of the scheme to have several 2020 battleground states send alternative electors for Trump, rather than Biden.
Thomas said that while she was interested in pursuing claims of voter fraud, she had largely stepped aside during the aftermath of the election because she felt her presence as the wife of Justice Thomas often “chilled” the discussion. She insisted she operated separately from her husband. When the panel told her that Trump-aligned attorney Cleta Mitchell testified under oath that Thomas had asked her about potential fraud in Georgia’s elections, Thomas said she could not recall the conversation. “I don’t have any memory of it,”

It seems Mrs Thomas is engaging in plausible deniability. Plausible deniability is the ability of people, typically senior officials in a formal or informal chain of command, to deny knowledge of or responsibility for actions committed by or on behalf of members of their organizational hierarchy. She introduced Sidney Powell.
From the AP News report, a text to Meadows a week after the election in which she suggested attorney Sidney Powell “will help the cavalry come and fraud exposed and America saved.” Thomas explained to investigators that at the time she didn’t really know Powell, and as she learned more in the weeks to come, “I kind of got off that train.”

“I think it might be a unanimous view of everyone on this call and in this room that I don’t know how many of you would want your texts to become public on the front page of The Washington Post,” Thomas said, referring to the first reports of her communications. “I understand that,” said California Rep. Adam Schiff, a Democratic member of the committee. “And I’m sure you’re right, no would like to see their personal texts in the newspaper.” She is still a white woman so her Karen ability came through at the end.
One of the most alarming aspects of this phenomenon is the way in which these conservative liars have been able to gain a following of loyal supporters who blindly believe their every word. These individuals have been carefully groomed by these leaders to accept any and all information fed to them, regardless of its validity. They have been trained to view any dissenting opinions or facts as ‘fake news’ and to only trust the sources that align with their own beliefs. This creates an echo chamber of misinformation and reinforces the lies being spread by these conservative leaders.
One of the most notorious examples of this is the false narrative surrounding climate change. Despite overwhelming scientific evidence, conservative leaders continue to deny the existence of this global crisis and spread misinformation about its causes and consequences. This deliberate denial of facts has not only hindered progress in addressing this urgent issue, but it has also put the lives and livelihoods of millions of people at risk.
Conservative liars have also mastered the art of twisting the truth to fit their own agenda. They use fear-mongering tactics to manipulate their followers into believing that certain groups or individuals pose a threat to their way of life. This has led to a rise in xenophobia, racism, and discrimination, as well as a dangerous erosion of basic human rights.
Furthermore, these conservative liars have no qualms about using their platform to spread conspiracy theories and baseless accusations. They often hide behind the guise of ‘alternative facts’ and ‘freedom of speech’ in order to push their dangerous narratives. This not only further polarizes an already divided nation, but it also undermines the foundations of democracy and the importance of truth and accountability in a society.
In the midst of all this chaos and deception, it is crucial for individuals to be vigilant and critical of the information they consume. Blindly following and supporting these conservative liars only perpetuates the cycle of manipulation and deceit. It is time for accountability and for the truth to prevail over political agendas. Only then can we truly create a society that operates on integrity and honesty, rather than the empty promises and deceitful tactics of those in power.
