TEE SLAVES releases second single RAGS UP off her next upcoming extended play mixtape, CONNECTED.

#Connected serves as the yang to #Disconnected, the other side of life where Tee explores a more vulnerable bop-like reality of her consciousness. You can expect 11 new records. The majority of the project was written between February 2022 and March 2023. Tee says she feels like this is the last set of raps and stories she wrote before she took her craft financially seriously. Her music continues to break into new listening markets and she believes her sound is organically finding the right ears. She has gained fans in more southern markets like Louisiana, Georgia, and Mississippi. We expect to see a lot more musical content from this burgeoning female artist.
WHO IS #TEESLAVES ⬇️
Tee Slaves is a play on her real name, Tahyira Savanna. Her idea behind the branding of her music directly coincides with her roots. Tahyira has done extensive research on her ancestry, dating back to the 1800s when slavery was first recorded in Trinidad and Tobago. She is a first generation born American. Her music covers themes found in the neighborhoods she has lived in.
In 2021 she told the indie outlet @shoutoutatlantaofficial why she uses ‘TEE SLAVES’
The music moniker is Tee Slaves. Right off the bat it throws off folks because it’s deemed “political”. That is the least of my worries. I wanted to have an in-your-face message /branding when it came to the listeners I want to grasp. I want the thinkers. The thought leaders. The activists. The warriors. The creative ones who need something real to live by.
Connected drops on Juneteenth, a soft digital unmastered version for the culture. Tee spoke out about the importance of timing and what the new American holiday truly represents.
“Yes we are the revelation chapter of the chapter book named SLAVE in the United States. Our final blow, electing President Obama, a half white Black looking dude from Chicago. Black Lives Matter is the response to our political power. Trayvon’s stand your ground murder scene happened after the GOP worked to legislatively slaughter Black looking people, like the President. He said “Trayvon, could be my son.” It sent shockwaves through the KKK heavy footed south drumming up white terror from the likes of seemingly normal middle class Americans. Black Lives Matter plaza was where Trump held an upside down bible on international tv. He is our devil in the flesh. His leadership allows for current events. DEI, CRT, being Woke, are all kitchen table issues in 2024. History has our back. I show up as Tee Slaves ⛓️cuz my legal last name has always been a slave name.”
