Teens who address themselves as the “subway conquestors” were spotted once again on Tuesday taking an empty NYC subway train for a joyride before crashing it at the end of the route. Police have apprehended the teenagers who proceeded to flee the scene upon crashing the train. Camera footage shows the perpetrator as two girls, one dressed in a pink tank top with a pink shower cap and the other wearing a sky-blue tank top.
The train was found at the Briarwood subway train in Queens around midnight. The vehicle was running along the F line which runs express meaning speeding on the railway was highly likely. Thankfully, no injuries were reported and the teens were quickly apprehended by the police for criminal mischief and reckless endangerment.
These subway conquestors have a history of hijacking the NYC Subway system. Last year, these teenagers gained access to the control panel of the 6 train and started making obscenities over the microphone. They then proceeded the turn the train’s lights off and honk the horn before running off the train at the next stop. It is still unknown how these conquestors gained access to these off-limit areas.
“Subway conquesting is only getting worse”, says the MTA. “If a group of teenagers can get away with this, just imagine what true criminals would be capable of doing. We need better security of our lines and we need the public’s cooperation. As always, if you see something, say something”.
