Ethan Marc is ready to take over the alternative scene, one confessional track at a time. His fan-favorite track “Take You Out” is an indie pop-rock anthem contemplating unhealthy relationships and the conflicting effects they have on us, even after they end.
“I wrote this song during a time of emotional chaos, feeling lost in the aftermath of a broken relationship that left me questioning myself,” Ethan shares. “It captures the push-and-pull between resentment and longing – knowing someone caused you pain, but still craving their presence.”
“Take You Out” is the punchy opener to Ethan’s Lost People EP that came out in December 2024, alongside standout tracks like “5’5” and “Headlights.” Ethan says of the project, “Each track on this EP was created during a dark period in my life – a period when I felt disconnected from myself, allowing the thoughts and opinions of others to shape both my internal and external reality. Eventually, I came to realize that the only voice that truly mattered was my own. Don’t let lost people make you feel lost.”
2025 has already been a banner year for Detroit native Ethan Marc and his supporting band. They were a musical highlight at this year’s SXSW Festival, have built local buzz through a feature in the Detroit Metro Times, and made their television debut with a performance on Click On Detroit’s Live In The D morning show. Internationally, “Take You Out” received a feature from Mexico’s INDIE AM, who praised the “raw emotion and powerful expression” in Ethan’s work. Ethan and the group will continue to create cinematic worlds with their music and visuals, which both feel straight out of a blockbuster coming-of-age movie. Will he be your new musical “Savior?”
