The event kicked off with a handful of women artist who are local to New York City. There was also many other performing artists who were on hand to promote their upcoming storytelling pieces. The Goddard Community thrives on helping up and coming artists of all walks to find an audience and essentially a home. Art is Powerful. Check out the images and audio interviews below.

CR: SINCE I’VE BEEN A KID, BUT I HAVE BEEN DOING DIGITAL WORK THE PAST FEW YEARS. IT IS A GREAT OUTLET FOR ME TO JUST FEEL FREE. AND RELEASE ENERGY.

CR: YES. IT MAKES ME FEEL EXCITED. I LIKE TO HEAR WHAT PEOPLE HAVE TO SAY.

CR: I THINK IT IS FOR SOME PEOPLE. IT IS NOT MY ULTIMATE GOAL

CR: WHEN IT FEELS LIKE I HAVE TO MAKE THINGS TO PLEASE PEOPLE
TREMG: DO YOU OR DID YOU TAKE ANY ART CLASSES AS A CHILD? DID THE TEACHER SEE SOMETHING IN YOU?
CR: YES I DID. MAYBE THEY DID.
TREMG: WHERE DO YOU SEE YOUR ART CAREER GOING IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS?
CR: ID LIKE TO DO MORE LOCAL SHOWS LIKE THESE TO PROMOTE MYSELF. I WOULD LOVE TO GO BACK HOME TO CHICAGO TO DISPLAY SOME WORK.
TREMG: DOES SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIFICALLY INSTAGRAM HELP TO ENHANCE YOUR ART CAREER OR DO YOU FEEL THAT IT INFRINGES ON IT?
CR: BOTH, I THINK IT HELPS WITH EXPOSURE BUT IT CAN ALSO BECOME ADDICTING.
