It’s a amazing to me how people can say that they understand consent and judging social cues when it comes to real life interactions– but not on social media.
Scratch that – social media is real life, and anyone who tries to tell you differently deserves a side-eye.
I watch a lot of shows. Sometimes I comment on them. Sometimes I comment on them on social media. And when you are someone who has thoughts and feelings about something – especially as socially aware Black woman (I refuse to say “woke” unironically anymore) people are gonna have some issues about that.
Two weeks ago I posted an unpopular opinion about the behavior of some fans of one of the many shows I watched, and my Twitter account has been stalked, subtweeted, attacked and just generally complained about every day since. These people make up new things to say about me every hour it seems like, and they don’t like the fact that I don’t lay down and all these attacks to my social media and my character like they think I should.
You wanna know the tweet that got them hot – and – bothered?
I called them entitled and hilariously unable to take any kind of criticism without having a trump-sized meltdown.
And what do they do?
If you cannot handle someone having different non-bigoted opinions than you, get off social media.

Sorry for the repetition but some of you hoes just ain’t getting it.
And don’t try to come for me for blocking you.
Because that shit is self-care and if I blocked you it means something you’ve said or done has directly made me feel unsafe and I don’t want you or yours coming anywhere near me.
I know a lot of y’all trolls think someone blocking you makes them a coward and as usual you are wrong. It means you are dangerous. It means that you are unsafe.
And I owe you nothing.
Not even a explanation. And if I catch you or someone in your crew try to get around my blocks so you can monitor my tweets I’m blocking all you hoes. On sight.
And I don’t give a damn what you think about it.
