Joy Reid at the 25th Essence Festival

Empowerment is an inside job often seen visibly in various places in the public sector. Being aware of the tenets of quantum physics, neuroplasticity, neuroscience and epigenetics, I realize the thought of empowerment generates emotions of happiness and elation, producing feelings of warmth, kindness and the mood of accomplishment. From the thought of these elevated feelings, I am producing high-quality chemicals in the body affecting my health and wellbeing. While I generate elevated feelings and produce high-quality chemicals in my body, others are doing the same time because we are all connected.

What am I talking about? While watching a portion of the MSNBC show, AM JOY this morning (07/12/2020), I caught the segment with Congresswoman Maxine Waters, hearing her tell the political analyst host, Joy Reid, how proud she is for her promotion. Later in the show,  Ms. Reid announced that she will host her current show for the last time next Saturday, July 18. During the closing panel, Dan Rather congratulated Ms. Reid for her breakthrough. Beginning Monday, the 20th of July in the 7 p.m. spot, she will be the first person of color to host a primetime news show on MSNBC, called, “The ReidOut”.

Catching the show, I noticed the attitude Ms. Reid expressed, especially when talking about her new job. She was smiling and giggling, conveying the mood of accomplishment. Digging a bit further, I read and online article featuring her response to this change in an interview with The New York Times. Ms. Reid is quoted, saying, “Evening and primetime news has been a universe of white men really since I was growing up.” Describing her childhood persona as a “nerdy kid obsessed with news,” she identifies herself as “a Black mom, a Black woman, a Black daughter”. Further, Ms. Reid says she is “a journalist who can conceptualize that pain from a unique point of view,” adding, “I’m very conscious of that responsibility to make that collective voice heard. It’s unique to do that as a Black woman.”

At the thought of Ms. Reid’s promotion, I am feeling the soft, warmth and kindness that comes with the mood of accomplishment. Going over the close of the show in my mind I am feeling the impact of Ms. Reid’s happiness as she is changing her position with MSNBC, and changing her world. The change she is making in the world as a black woman of influence as she moves into the primetime slot is empowerment beyond racism for women. She is transcending the tradition that has been reserved for whites only. At the same time, she is changing her body chemically.

Anyone who is happy for Joy Reid is changing their bodies chemically, as they are thinking good feeling thoughts and generating elevated emotions. According to quantum physics, as we are all tuning in to the frequencies she is transmitting, we are all strengthening our connections, and we are all empowering ourselves. This is just one instance of empowerment beyond racism. I am looking forward to seeing how this drama is playing out.

Brilliance Galore!
