Several prominent twitter accounts such as Jeff Bezos, Obama, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Elon musk, and others were hacked.
Their accounts tweeted requesting from followers to send ‘$1000’ and above to a certain cryptocurrency wallet in other to receive double payment back.
One after the other, Verified twitter accounts of popular Americans with large wealth appears to be the target. The scam messages take all the same form with the same bitcoin address. “Send Bitcoin to the link below and you will double your money.”
Currently, this happens to be one of the most unprecedented and lewd online attacks in years now. It appears Twitter is powerless to stop these hackers behind the scam. Although, twitter eventually disabled broad swathes of its service.
“You may be unable to Tweet or reset your password while we review and address this incident,” the company’s statement reads.
This cyber attack will definitely have a huge blow and dent to Twitter. It displays the vulnerability of a company, Twitter.
What a mess it is, and a mess it will be.
