BoxyCharm Subscription Box Review

Beauty subscription boxes send customers a small selection of products, either full-size or trial-size. I have recently been interested in trying out different makeup products, so I have been ordering an array of subscription boxes. This is my favorite thus far, because of the quality of products they send. As a beginner, it is difficult to know every brand and product you can and cannot use. It’s a learning process. BoxyCharm sends products from a combination of well known and obscure companies. For me, receiving items from companies I already trust makes me feel like I didn’t just waste my money on products that may not work. BoxyCharm not only sends makeup, but also skincare, hair care, and tools. It is very important for a beginner to receive a range of products, so they can expand their collection and expertise to wherever they wish.

The Box

The subscription box provides 5 full-size products, many subscriptions send trial-size products, and for only $25 a month. They also have a seasonal upgraded box, BoxyLuxe, that costs your subscription price + $28.99. So for a 6 month subscription, the total for BoxyLuxe would be $23 + $28.99 = $51.99. The next BoxyLuxe will come out in September!

  • Monthly: $25/month
  • 3 Months: $23.33/month
  • 6 Months: $23/month
  • 12 Months: $22.92/month

If you know you are going to continue to want the box for the allotted time, then you can save a little money by signing up for 3,6, or 12 months. I don’t like to make commitments, so I will be sticking to the monthly box. It may be the most expensive but at least I can cancel at anytime!

The Products

Inside the box sits 5 full-size products and an informational card. The card explains each product, what they do, and their retail value.

Skincare Products

Pollution Defence Booster from 111 Skin, retailed at $135

According to 111 Skin’s website, this facial serum:

“Defends against accelerated ageing caused by screen-emitted light.

Forms a protective barrier to shield against air pollution.

Heals skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.”

111 Skin

After cleansing your face, the serum can be applied by itself or with one or two drops mixed with facial moisturizer. It is not stated whether it should be applied in the morning or night, but I would assume morning, since it is for protecting against light and air pollution. It also states that this product is free of silicone and paraffins!

Anti-Wrinkle and Energizing Under-Eye Masks by grace & stella, retailed at $21

One time use under eye masks, to make it seem as if you aren’t exhausted? Yes, absolutely, sign me up! Their website states they use collagen, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin c to strengthen, restore, and brighten the under-eye area. Use after cleansing, place under eyes, let sit for 20 minutes, discard, and rub excess oils into your face gently, no need to rinse anything off. Their website also states they are vegan, cruelty free, and paraben free. The box I received came with 12 sets of masks, but you can buy a box of 24 masks on the website for $34.

Arch Micro Sculpting Pencil by Hourglass, retailed at $28

An eyebrow pencil on one end and eyebrow brush on the other, it is waterproof and smudge proof. I have darker eyebrows, and I got the color dark brunette. It is an almost perfect match! The liner itself is retractable and has a flat tip. Their products are free of silicone, parabens, and others. They are also cruelty free!

Fierce and Fine Graphic Pen by Doucce, retailed at $21

Waterproof black eyeliner with a felt tip. The tip is supposed make it simple to craft a thick or thin line. Doucce is cruelty free!

Festival 2.0 Eyeshadow Palette by PÜR Cosmetics, retailed at $36

A 12-piece pressed pigment palette with light reflective and shimmer properties. I really love the colors in this palette, the purple and bright pink give a nice contrast to the other neutral colors. Its also always nice when the palette comes with a mirror! PÜR is cruelty free, vegan, and free of parabens!

I have tried to find BoxyCharm’s COVID-19 procedures, but I could not find any statements. They do say on their website that shipping may take longer than usual because their workers are social distancing and wearing gloves. That is all I can find! I would definitely appreciate a statement regarding a health policy for COVID-19. However, I think their products are worth the money, so for now, I will continue to subscribe!

Do you get any subscription boxes? If so, let me know what you get! I would love to try them out. If this review leads you to try BoxyCharm, let me know! I am eager to see what different products people receive, and to hear your opinions! Thanks for reading!
