So, in this article I want to share with you three unorthodox ways to destress and make see of this crazy world right now.

  1. Love others

This may seem like a pretty normal thing to do. And it may seem like quite an unorthodox way to live during COVID. But loving others during tumultuous times like these is quite a tall order, if you ask me. It can seem like the closer you cling to yourself during this time the better everything will turn out. But that’s an error in judgement. The more you love others the more time you appreciate life. And though this life is chaotic now, we’re still here and life must be lived to its fullest. Just Love!

2. Be happy in small beauty

You’re alive and a beautiful individual! Truly it’s a miracle we were born and we’re all alive. You were born to be a GREAT. During this time it’s easy to stumble into the issue of feeling inadequate or insecure. Being shut up in a house and not allowed to gather as much with others sure puts a damper on being happy. During this time I think it’s especially important for us to be joyful and happy in small beauty and blessings of life.

3. Be at Peace

During this time it’s so easy for us to be at odds with ourselves and what to “gain” or “keep busy with.” Right now, our world has fallen into chaos and we might be just reacting with shock and wanting to get on with our normal lives. Trying to build our old life back up as it was. But, you know what they say, “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” A new normal has to be found and how we do this has to be together. We must “do” peace for our world. Peace begins at home, loving those closest, which is all we might be able to do right now. The peace we show at home will reciprocate to others and create world change.

I remember seeing the saying my fifth grade teacher’s door,

The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step

This is such an inspiring quote that I’ve come back to many times in my life. I find peace in this quote.

Where do you find your peace during this troubled time?
