We all know that Twitter can be a bit of a hot mess sometimes, and this is especially the case now that election time is drawing closer. When’s the last time you’ve seen a trending tag that didn’t have to do with Trump’s poor decisions or his COVID diagnosis? If you ever scroll through the trends and look at some of the hot takes there, you’ll find some of the weirdest criticisms that Biden has ever received. It’s an interesting look into the Republican psyche and can definitely give you a few laughs.
I’ll spare you the hunt. Here’s a list of some of my favorites:
1. Fellas, is it Gay to Flatten the Curve?
This feels like an admittance that men who engage in toxic masculinity don’t care about the health and safety of other people. You think it’s gay to protect those around you? In that case, I’ll be heading over to Grindr.
2. Again With The White Supremacy
White supremacists are so afraid of having their own racist system turned against them. What confuses me about this tweet is the use of the word “more.” What hate are white people receiving, exactly? I sure haven’t been seeing it.
3. Moderate Left = Socialism ?
I wish some of these republicans knew that the main struggle for the democratic party is that Joe was TOO moderate for them. I’m not sure why they keep trying to equate his politics with socialism when he’s a republican by European standards. Weird stuff. Also, it’s kind of weird to see how eager this person is to accept hate.
4. He Said 4 Words, Jason.
You listen to Trump and consider THIS a meltdown? Try again, Jason.
5. Oh Boy
Oh no. Yes, if you’re curious, @ZachCasebolt has #Trump2020 in his bio. This isn’t very surprising.
6. I Can Only Read 1 Sentence, Sorry.
Brussels Griffon probably thought this was a huge “gotcha!” moment, huh? If they had read a little further, they’d encounter the word “pray” right away. Not that it even matters whether he said it or not. This was just an odd thing to get nit-picky about.
7. Oh, So Now White Supremacy is the “Idea.”
Although Biden correctly label anti-fascism as an idea, this twitter user seems pretty convinced that White Supremacy is also an idea. They seem to mean it in the sense of “this is a lie” versus “this is a political stance stating you don’t want to live in a fascist state,” but an idea nonetheless.
8. “Global Warming BS”
This whole list is pretty wild, right down to the “Hahahahahaha” at the end of it. 6 “ha’s” is a little excessive, don’t you think? Personally, I’d like to mention the “No to Global Warming BS” as a particularly outlandish item on this list, alongside whatever the hell “China” is supposed to mean. What about China, exactly?
9. Pay More Attention, Bro.
Oh geez. Trump was “tweeting” in the middle of the debate, too, so don’t give me that. It’s almost like both candidates have an entire administration who work behind the scenes!
10. Family Issues
There’s a lot to unpack here. Not only did Joe have a whole “It’s not about my family…” spiel a few minutes later in the debate, but it was Trump who kept bringing up Joe’s family in the first place. Plus, I’m having a hard time figuring out what the Biden family has to do with this tweet anyway.
