Ever since the 2020 election results came in, President Trump has not been taking it too well. He continues to insist, in his words, that “this is a case where [the Democrats] are trying to steal an election. They’re trying to rig an election and we can’t let that happen.” In short, he is taking these results like a sore loser, and this is leading to profound results in the current state of America.
Trump’s orders and lawsuits have officials in Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Georgia exhausted as they manually count every single vote to check for “voter fraud”. He has also made other accusations that remain unproven such as stating that CIA Director Gina Haspel has withheld documents showing “deep state protest” against Trump. He had also fired Secretary of Defense Mark Esper for criticizing Trump. Safe to say, Trump is acting like a madman, and the country has had enough.
Even the Republican party is beginning to show contempt towards Trump’s recent actions. Republican Senator Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania states, “The President’s speech last night was very disturbing to me because he had made very, very serious allegations without any evidence to support it.” Even Melania Trump is urging her husband to accept the election loss, going so far as to divorce him if he continues his tantrum. Republicans also remind Trump that their party still controls the Senate, leaving Biden “hopeless”. However, this is still not enough to settle Trump down.
In the midst of Trump’s meltdown, however, never forget this: HE IS STILL THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES UNTIL JANUARY. This means he is still President for another few months: November, December, and more than half of January. It seems, however, that Trump has taken for granted this concept and this is how he is going to spend the last few months of his administration. The time he is spending rambling on about the accepted election results is time he could be spending to push a COVID-19 vaccine, ensure equality of all Americans, and act like a US President rather than a crybaby.
Trump’s tantrum shows no signs of slowing down until he gets his way. Through focusing on “voter fraud” rather than focusing on COVID-19 and other political issues while he is still President, Trump is putting the lives of millions of Americans at risk all because he wants to win reelection. At this point, Democrats and Republicans alike are pleased to bid Trump good riddance and this idea alone makes him unfit and a danger to America and society. It is time to say: “Trump, you’re fired!”
