It’s been fifteen years since heavyweight champion Mike Tyson step into a boxing ring, but that all changed this Saturday when he and boxing legend in his own right Roy Jones Jr fought in what is tilted “Frontline Battle.” This fight was heavily supported by The World Boxing Council (WBC) and was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The fight lasted eight rounds, with each, round being two minutes instead of the normal 3 minutes. The legends fight ended in a draw even though some people may disagree with that decision. The real entertainment during the PPV fight came from the broadcasting booth with hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg providing hilarious commenting; Snoop said: “This shit is like two of my uncles fighting at a barbecue! Grandma they out there fighting again!” Snoop also provided commentary for another highly anticipated fight between NBA Basketball star Nate Robinson and Youtuber turned boxer Jake Paul. This fight left social media in disappointment as Nate Robinson proclaimed he was getting this win not only for himself and his family but for the NBA…. Nate lasted two rounds before getting knockout. The jokes quickly came with comments coming from basketball players like Nick Young, Paul Pierce, Steph Curry, and many others.
Both fights provided entertainment for the Thanksgiving weekend and let everybody take their mind off the crazy year we are having. Mike Tyson mentioned that he will return to the boxing world, but not to chase titles or money but for charity and his love of the sport.
