Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions (2020) – I Want More
First of all, I love Taylor Swift. I’ll just put that out there now. So, back in July when Taylor Swift released her album Folklore, I ate it up. I loved it. I listened to it on repeat for weeks. So, imagine my excitement when it was announced that a documentary, Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions (2020), about the album would be released on Disney+. I didn’t know what to expect but ultimately, I was absolutely blown away. And, I need more.
Not just more documentaries about Taylor Swift albums, although I would gladly take them, I need more documentaries about albums in the style of Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions. The way the documentary is structured is Taylor Swift would discuss the writing process for a song, what inspired it, what it means to her, and then would perform it. It’s incredible. It gave me a whole new appreciation for just about every song on the album. One, we get to hear a new version of the song, but we also get to hear the story behind each song, and its incredible. Its so nice to get to hear the artist really talk in depth into their creative process, where you can see their passion and pride for the work they do and art they create.
And I just want more. I would probably watch a documentary like this for a band or artist that I don’t even like. I just find all this behind the scenes stuff to be absolutely fascinating.
You can watch Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions only on Disney+. And I highly recommend you do.
Great writeup! It’s cool to find another Taylor fan on the TREMG team 🙂
