Trailer for “Cobra Kai” Season Three Drops

After enjoying a resurgence in popularity after moving from YouTube Red to Netflix, the season three trailer for “Cobra Kai” dropped showcasing snippets of what this season will have to offer.

In the trailer, it reveals many things that fans have been wondering since the second season finale. Miguel, played by Xolo Mariduena, is alive but has the possibility of never being able to walk again. Robby, played by Tanner Buchanan, is arrested for his assault on Miguel and sent into juvenile detention. But most importantly, Johnny, played by William Zbaka, and Daniel, played by Ralph Macchio, will be teaming up to solve the problems they made for their students.

Other characters also get smaller moments throughout the trailer to signal their own subplots. Dmitri, played by Gianni Decenzo, is still at odds with his former friend Hawk, played by Jacob Bertrand. Meanwhile, Hawk looks to be dealing with his former bully Kyler, played by Joe Seo, joining Cobra Kai. There is also a quick scene of what looks like Kreese, played by Martin Kove, visiting Robby in juvie potentially signaling an evil turn.

However, for many old-school “Karate Kid” fans, the biggest thing shown off in the trailer was the return of Kumiko, played by Tamlyn Tomita, and Chozen, played by Yuji Okumoto, from “The Karate Kid Part II.” In the season, it looks as if Daniel will go back to Okinawa, Mr. Miyagi’s homeland, and be reunited with the two characters. In “The Karate Kid Part II,” Kumiko served as Daniel’s love interest and Chozen served as the main antagonist of the film culminating in a massive fight.

Season three of “Cobra Kai” is set to release on January 8, 2021 on Netflix.
