The United States celebration kicks off tonight at 6pm. It’s already 2021 in Japan and Korea which is cool.
Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2021 will air on Thursday, Dec. 31, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, with five-and-a-half hours worth of performances. Viewers can also tune in via ABC.com or the ABC app, or they can catch all the celebratory action on demand on Hulu starting Jan. 1.

It’s almost time for Ryan Seacrest, Lucy Hale and Billy Porter to host the official countdown to 2021 on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.

In the television special’s nearly 50-year history, this will mark the first time a live audience will not be allowed in Times Square to watch the ball drop at midnight, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. But that’s not stopping the clock from ticking or the stars from singing in celebration of closing this chapter of 2020 and starting a new one in 2021.

“One thing that will never change is the ticking of time and the arrival of a New Year at midnight on December 31st,” Tim Tompkins, president of the Times Square Alliance, said in a press release. “But this year there will be significantly new and enhanced virtual, visual and digital offerings to complement whatever limited live entertainment or experiences — still in development — will take place in Times Square.”
