To be honest, this movie is at best, OK. But, luckily, I don’t really want to talk about the movie. I want to talk about the cast. Because, oh boy. This movie has quite the murder’s row of talent playing interchangeable characters that is super hard to tell apart. Here is a taste of the cast:
Josh Hartnett (Lucky Number Slevin), Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequels), Eric Bana (Hector in Troy), Tom Sizemore (Saving Private Ryan), William Fichtner (Heat), Ty Burrell (Phil Dunphy on Modern Family), Orlando Bloom (Legolas in the Lord of the rings Trilogy), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister in Game of Thrones), Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter), and Tom Hardy (Mad Max: Fury Road). I mean… Right? What a cast! And, that’s not even all of them! Also, most of them were pretty early in their careers and weren’t big names yet.
Maybe this is why I didn’t enjoy the movie that much? I spent most of it going, “wait… I know that guy… what is he from… oh god it’s gonna kill me… who is that? Oh! Him! Cool… Wait… now who is this? I’ve definitely seen them somewhere…” and that continues for about two and a half hours.
Regardless, cool to see so many great actors much younger then I know them now.
