After signing a deal with NBCUniversal, Wrecking Ball singer Miley Cyrus is tentatively appearing on projects by the company. While not much is uncovered about her future, according to reporter Allison Olivia, the deal includes “a one hour concert entitled Stand By You which will be a one hour Pride concert streamed on Peacock”.
“Stand By You is the perfect way to kick off this incredible partnership with Peacock”, says chairman entertainment content at NBCU Susan Rovner. “Miley is the true definition of a multi-hyphenate superstar and the creative possibilities for Miley across our portfolio are literally endless and we can’t wait to collaborate on amazing projects across genres with her”.
Miley Cyrus is a triple threat, having a portfolio of singing, dancing, and acting. She has sung and danced to a wide variety of songs such as Wrecking Ball, 4×4, and Party in the USA. She was also a former actor on the 2000s Disney Channel hit, Hannah Montana. Her mother also owns her own production company called “Hopetown Entertainment” which features scripted and unscripted programming blocks.
“I have had an incredible long-lasting relationship with NBC for years!”, says Cyrus. “This feels like a natural progression and I am looking forward to creating content that we love and hope everyone who watches does too. We’re starting this journey together with a Pride Special on Peacock to celebrate a month and we both want to commemorate the event”.
Cyrus has made numerous contributions to better society such as starting her own non-profit organization called the Happy Hippie Foundation which has long donated money and supported the homeless community as well as the LGBTIA+ youth. She also founded the Malibu Foundations to combat the California Fires in 2020 and raising awareness of climate change. Both of these organizations will tentatively be addressed in Stand By You.
Certainly, Cyrus herself is elated for this collaboration, posting a picture on Instagram of herself with NBCU member and using the caption “Blessed Trinity”. It is truly a blessed collaboration and It’s no surprise that Cyrus has carved such a niche for herself in her community and in the world of entertainment.
