COVID-19 made daily life harder for everyone, but especially artists who draw from their own experiences for their work and couldn’t tour or connect with fans in person. That’s why Interscope Records is teaming up with Essentia Water for “Stop for Nothing,” a musical spotlight series that features a new up-next Interscope artist each month.
June’s featured artist is EarthGang, an Atlanta hip-hop duo gearing up to release their new album, Ghetto Gods, later this year. The episode gives fans a peek into what their life has been like while recording the project during the pandemic, including late night studio sessions, morning workouts, and nostalgic glimpses back at their live shows:
“Artists are truly some of the most driven and focused individuals in the world,” Essentia’s head of Influencer and Sponsorship Marketing, Reid Vokey, shares. “We created this series in partnership with Interscope to help highlight these diverse artists’ stories in hopes of inspiring viewers to chase the things that matter most to them. Resilience is key in any industry or passion, and in order to maintain it, you need to take care of yourself first. That starts with water.”
Acts to be featured in the future include Role Model and renforshort, whose teenage angst project was one of the first records to be stifled by the pandemic – she explains, “My EP dropped the day the world went into lockdown on March 16th which was quite a bummer. Plus I was set to start a US tour that weekend. So, the idea of ‘stopping for nothing’ is especially personal to me – more than ever we have to persevere in order to succeed.”
