DaBaby took over 2020 with hits like “Rockstar” and “BOP” off his third album, Blame It On Baby, and it looks like he’s set his sights on taking over 2021 as well. He just dropped a new track “Ball If I Want To,” which flaunts his success, details his pursuit of a “Rapunzel” with long hair, and marks the first video he’s directed himself.

The clip takes place throughout a high school, with DaBaby surrounded by cheerleaders and even a big baby mascot as a nod to his nickname. With the school year coming to a close, it’s the perfect way to grab people’s attention and offer a summer hit with a touch of nostalgia for those who have already graduated.

DaBaby first started teasing “Ball If I Want To” the night before its release, posting an Instagram video with his daughter hinting at a “big surprise,” which he soon announced to be the song and video. Later this summer, he’ll return to the stage at shows like Rolling Loud, Reading & Leeds, Governors Ball, and Austin City Limits. A little more within reach, he’ll be performing at the BET Awards on June 27th, where he’ll have a chance at winning seven awards.

You can find “Ball If I Want To” on your favorite streaming services now, and connect with DaBaby on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and his official website!
