Summer is here and pop singer and former actress Selena Gomez is expanding her career for the sake of our fashion. This singer has just launched a collaboration with La Mariette Swimwear, owned by Theresa Mingus. The swimwear brand has stated that it promotes beauty, self-love, and acceptance.
Their collaboration includes Gomez’s own take on swimming gear such as buster tops, cross straps, halter cuts, and high-rise bottoms. Sizes range from XS to XXL so that all bodies are accepted. “Here at La Mariette Swimwear, we plan to create prices that people from all shapes and sizes and all walks of life can don for the summer”, says the website. The prices range from $49 to $119.

Hope you love it as much as I do.” Gomez said as she took to Instagram.
In another post, Gomez continues gushing over the collaboration, discussing her kidney surgery “When I got my kidney transplant, I remember it being very difficult at first showing my scar. I didn’t want it to be in photos, so I wore things that would cover it up. Now, more than ever, I feel confident in who I am and what I went through…and I’m proud of that. T – Congratulations on what you’re doing for women, launching @lamariette whose message is just that…all bodies are beautiful.”
La Mariette Swimwear specializes mostly in bikinis and swimsuits and Gomez’s collaboration has already produced numerous types of these swimwear from plain to designed. However, what distinguishes La Mariette from other swimwear brands is their focus on body pattern rather than size. The website reminds us that “With suits running from sizes XS-XXL, La’Mariette’s swimwear provides the coverage and confidence to feel at ease being your best self”.
Future plans for Gomez include starring in a Hulu series titled “Only Murders in the Building” where she will be collaborating with Pink Panther star Steve Martin and Father of the Bride star Martin Short.
