Combining all the best aspects of lighthearted satires and classic love songs, Anna Sun poke fun at romantic infatuation on “Mine,” a dreamy pop track with an equally captivating music video. It’s the New York trio’s debut single, hinting at a thriving, bop-filled future we can’t wait to see unfold!

“I started this song with the intention of writing a bubblegum love song, and it turned into this larger than life, kind of romanticization of codependency,” singer and guitarist Samantha Aneson explains. “I spent so much of my life obsessing about being in a relationship. It was shoved down my throat in the media that I consumed growing up as a girl. Prince Charming and all that. But the idea that another person being your partner can make you invincible is not a very healthy concept.”

Consisting of Aneson, bassist Andrew Shewaga, and drummer Nikola Balać, Anna Sun combine earworm melodies with a healthy dose of nostalgia for a not-so-distant past, making them an indie act you’ll certainly hear more about in the years to come. They’re currently in the process of finalizing their self-titled debut EP, so keep an eye out for more music in the near future!

You can find “Mine” on your favorite streaming services now, and get to know Anna Sun on Facebook, Instagram, and their official website.
