When it comes to high-octane performances you can’t miss, Doja Cat is in a league of her own. Between her visuals, stage presence, and versatile voice, she’s always giving her fans something new and innovative. No wonder she’s getting the Powerhouse Award at this year’s Billboard Women in Music event! Here are just a handful of performances that show off her prowess in the best ways possible.
Three Songs at Vevo
Shortly after releasing Planet Her, Doja wowed Vevo with a trifecta of incredible performances, singing “Ain’t Shit,” “Need To Know,” and “Love To Dream.” We fell in love with the elaborate sets, chic costumes, and gorgeous vocals she offered! Vevo will now be offering a longform version of the performances exclusively on The Roku Channel this weekend, and starting on February 7th, you can find the longform video on the rest of the Vevo network. What’s not to adore?
“Woman” at Austin City Limits
For some artists, playing at the Austin City Limits music festival is just a dream. But Doja managed to do it and do it flawlessly! Her performance of “Woman” is a perfect example of how well she can command a stage with fun choreography, stable vocals, and stunning visuals that take the audience to another world.
“Streets” at Hot Pink Sessions
Doja turned “Streets” into a cinematic experience during the 2020 Hot Pink Sessions, a series of performances she posted to celebrate her 2019 Hot Pink album before turning her focus to Planet Her for 2021. Between the note changes, the instrumental remix, and her cool grunge-inspired outfit, we can’t get enough of this video!
Medley at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards
Doja took “Say So” from a club banger to an orchestral mystery with her abduction-themed performance at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, which also included “Streets” and “Kiss Me More” as aliens appeared onstage. We love that this performance teased the sci-fi aesthetic of Planet Her just a few weeks before the album came out, while also giving fans an artistic version of songs they already loved.
