Plattsbourgh, NY: 36 year old man Calvin Bautista is under investigation after a mysterious finding at the US-Canadian border crossing: 3 Burmese pythons were concealed in the pockets of his jeans. The snakes were first seen slithering around a bus heading to New York and Baustita has been trialed for “smuggling” along with “possession of dangerous objects”.

“Burmese pythons are an extremely lethal species”, says a federal prosecutor whose name is currently anonymous. “[Baustista] can be charged up to $250,000 and up to 20 years in prioson solely for putting bus passengers in harm’s way”. Despite being a Canadian resident, Baustita’s trail will take place in Queen’s New York and will abide by Queens regulations.

It is unknown how Bautista managed to find these snakes, let alone hide 3 of them in his pocket. Not only are Burmese pythons one of the longest snakes in the world (about 52 feet long, according to Z-animals.com) but they are located mainly in the Southernmost region of Florida, approximately 2000 miles away. Regardless, federal regulations list these pythons as “injurious to human beings” and that Bautista “will be prosecuted to the highest extent of the law”.
