The list has been curated by me, a local Black Lives Will Matter in the United States activist. I am also a screenwriter, actor, music producer, lyricist, documentarian, and a humanitarian. My birthday is January 25th. Federal holidays are government authorized paid time off in observance of a special cause, commemoration, and or religious rights. The first federal holidays were created in 1870 when Congress granted paid time off to federal workers in the District of Columbia for New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. In 1880, George Washington’s birthday was added. Only 12 federal holidays have been approved by Congress, with the most recent being Juneteenth National Independence Day, which President Joe Biden signed into law in 2021. Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. Its name stems from June 19, 1865, when Major General Gordon Granger issued General Order No. 3 in Galveston, Texas, to inform enslaved people of their freedom two months after the end of the Civil War and more than two years after President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation.

He was the most powerful leader of the Black American voting populate at the time of his assassination by the FBI on April 4, 1968.
