Is there anything quite like the rush of discovering a new song or artist you can’t get enough of? We think not, and that’s exactly why we at TREMG love spotlighting rising and underappreciated talent to give creators at every level the recognition they deserve. So many artists spent January offering fans new treats, releasing some of the best work of their career, and opening up in their lyrics like never before. Throughout January, we got to talk to incredible artists like 70807 Teezy about their latest projects, but there’s a whole world of talent making their own waves. Here are some of our favorite new releases from this month!

CIX – “Lovers or Enemies”

CIX came back just in time to soundtrack your Valentine’s Day season with the euphoric “Lovers or Enemies,” which sees the members confessing their feelings to a crush and wondering whether anything will come out of their admission. It’ll inspire you to make your own confessions if you’ve been shot by Cupid’s arrow, and even if the person you have your eye on doesn’t return your feelings, at least you’ll have CIX and their relentlessly catchy music to cheer you up! “Lovers or Enemies” is the bouncy anthem we all need on our romantic playlists. Keep up with CIX on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter

This song is a direct confession of love, urging you to decide between being my lover or enemy. It deviates from our usual musical style, so we were quite curious about how our fans would react to it from the moment we first listened to the song and until we finished its recording. We put in a lot of effort thinking of our fans, FIX, who have awaited our comeback, so please send us your love and interest!

Eddy Lee Ryder – “Sweet Delusions”

Leading up to the release of her album of the same name, Eddy Lee Ryder is stealing our hearts with the cinematic “Sweet Delusions.” With flourishing strings and a 60s-esque bassline, it’s just as dreamy as it is melancholic, perfectly embodying the conflicting feelings that come with being a hopeless romantic. Her unique breed of self-described “demented pop” will whisk you away to another world while making you feel less alone in your current one. A sweet mix, indeed! We need to hear this track on a dramatic romcom soundtrack as soon as possible. Get to know Eddy on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and her official site

[It’s] for anyone holding on for way too long and expecting an unrealistic outcome. This song started about one person and finished about another person, which shows endings can be doomed in so many ways but the delusional trajectory is all the same.

Hunter Daily – “Girl Friend”

Rising singer-songwriter Hunter Daily has an undeniable gift for picking just the right details to tell a full story, and that shines through beautifully on the shimmering “Girl Friend.” The song describes what it’s like to be in the blurry space between admiration and crushing with a friend, breaking down what makes the girl so special and why Hunter can’t get her off her mind. It balances vulnerability with a sense of confidence and excitement, while the story contrasts closeness with elusivity just as well. One listen will have you wanting to add Hunter to your playlists and your friend group! Learn more about her on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and her website.

‘Girl Friend’ is a song about having a girl crush. It’s a confusing feeling, being close to a girl who’s so effortlessly cool and beautiful — do you want to be friends with them, be them, or be with them? … I remember leaving the studio, unsure about whether or not I would feel comfortable putting a song like this out. It just revealed a part of myself that I had never confronted before. But when I listened to the first bounce of the song, I loved it. Not only is it a truthful discussion about my confusing little crushes, but I think it’s also a song that’s as cool as the girl it’s about and I think that other girls might be able to relate to it.

Maggie Lindemann – “hostage”

We’ve been fans of Maggie Lindemann’s music for a long time, but we have to admit that “hostage” might already be taking the crown for our favorite song she’s released so far! The track discusses the ups and downs of mental health that many of us experience with an eerie, alluring rock sound that would bring Evanescence to life. Throughout the song, Maggie longs for a sense of connection and comfort, and it’s clear that “hostage” will become a source of that kind of comfort for fans, reminding them that their shadows can never truly stop them or take away their power. If you love what you hear, be sure to keep an eye out for Maggie’s HEADSPLIT EP on March 8th and connect with her on Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and her website!

‘hostage,’ for me, is like peering through a window into my own mind. It’s about being caught in this strange limbo where everything around me, externally, is going well, but inside, there’s a relentless storm. The song is a cry for that person who can calm the turmoil inside me, a plea for solace amidst my own mental chaos. It’s raw and real – it’s a journey so many of us silently go through.

Tierra Whack – “SHOWER SONG”

If you’re anything like us, you wind up almost being late for your appointments because you were too busy singing your heart out while getting ready. You have the perfect song to sing now thanks to Tierra Whack and her delightfully quirky “SHOWER SONG,” which is all about how we think we’re world-class performers when we’re surrounded by those tile walls. It’s a celebration of letting loose and doing what makes you happy, no matter whether you’re technically “good” or if you wind up turning your passions into a career. The track makes us even more excited to hear Tierra’s debut WORLD WIDE WHACK album later this year! Follow her on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter to make sure you don’t miss anything during this rollout.
