Who hasn’t played a Sims game? The life-sim game franchise is a cultural phenomenon. Spanning 20 years and multiple gaming platforms the series is still going strong and now it’s becoming an esport.
12 competitors will play for $100 000 over a 4 part series to impress judges by building unique stories and characters within The Sims 4. The show starts on July 17th at 11pm ET on TBS. The show’s judges are Kelsey Impicciche (YouTube personality), Tayla Parx (singer-songwriter) and one of the game’s developers Dave Miotke. Spark’d will be hosted by Rayvon Owen (American Idol finalist).
Of all the games one would not expect to be an esport, I am sure nobody saw this coming but I am intrigued and will definitely be tuning in to see how this shapes up.
