The name everywhere in the aether is Javier Milei, the new libertarian president of Argentina. Known for his anarcho-capitalist, laissez-faire politics and a viral video of outlandishly declaring to dissolve half the departments of the Argentinian government, such as the Department of Education and Department for Women; Milei is also a former Tantric sex coach and consults his dead dog for advice. Nicknamed, “The Madman,” Milei is quite possibly the wildcard the world of Argentine politics needs. But, let’s get to the core of his personality. Considering his background, an Astro profile may just be right up his alley.

A right-wing populist and the first anarcho-capitalist global-level politician, Milei hopes to reinvigorate the Argentinian economy with his deregulation tactics. And after the dictators of the 1970s and early 80s, this is a breath of fresh air. The era of “Kirchirism” was also one of their more warped and nepotistic periods, with Nestor Kirchir serving as president first, immediately followed by his wife Christina Kirchir. The country is tired of these sorts of antics. As a result of all these politician-focused ages, the people long for true liberty. Thus, the pendulum has swung widely in the other direction.
South America has been plagued by one socialist dictator after another promising the moon for decades. The “domino theory” was even developed by American intelligence agencies specifically regarding South American politics and the tendency for its countries to fall prey to communistic regimes. As a result of oligarchs ruling many South American countries rather late in the 19th century and on into the 20th century, the adoption of legitimate democratic methods was slow coming.

But let’s get down to business. I’ll start with the basics; Javier has Sun conjunct Mercury. This is a not uncommon placement for many people. One of those in between positions that many people have, but certainly not everyone. The Sun represents ego, energy and the authentic self, while Mercury represents communication, logic, and thinking. When you put them together the Sun lends its abundant energy source to the thinking and logic of Mercury, making the person highly intellectual. They have near unlimited amounts of mental endurance and are always coming up with ideas. It’s a common marker of intelligence and a fast talker. However, the Sun is the ego, and thus when combined, the person associates their ideas with themselves. This means that they often get hurt or take things too seriously when their ideas are challenged. In addition, because Mercury is considered the trickster god of the Roman pantheon, the person takes on a kind of theater in their expressions. They often do impersonations and are highly animated. It’s a very fun placement.
Next up is Moon square Jupiter. As should be well established by now in previous articles, Jupiter expands things. Yes, he is known for luck, gregariousness, and being king of the gods. But ultimately, in my experience, all he does is blow things up like a balloon. Filled with hot air, not really consisting of anything, he tends to be a letdown. But he’s not all bad. What he does bring is positive feelings. Whenever you’re riding high on life and feel as though nothing can go wrong, Jupiter is at play somewhere in your chart. And when he squares the natal Moon, he makes big feelings. So, the upside of this position is that the person always sees the bright side of life. But, they are prone to disillusionment when things aren’t quite as sunny as they appear.
Moving right along, we have a powerhouse set of planets all conjunct one another, so I’ll explain the effect of them separately, then the triple conjunction at once.
Mars conjunct Uranus, conjunct Pluto. Wow. Either one of them separately is crazy. All three is a party. But maybe not the good kind of party. More like one that gets out of control with people puking and tearing apart your house with various fist fights.
So, Mars conjunct Uranus is the ultimate “WTF just happened” aspect. Mars is war, anger, masculinity, and action. Uranus is unexpected shock and surprise, genius, and a sideways, off-the-wall type of energy. When you combine these two, it’s a warrior that is completely unpredictable. He may donate to your favorite charity, or he may crash your dad’s car into a strip club. And then date one of the strippers in the weeks following. He’s a nutbar, and there’s absolutely no stopping him. The best you can do is put up with it and clean the mess afterward.
Mars conjunct Pluto is the warrior archetype on steroids. If Jupiter amplifies, Pluto makes things more intense. He is like a black hole. There is so much gravity that things crush in on themselves, virtually imploding. When Mars and Pluto get together, they become the night stalker. This is Scorpionic energy after ten Red Bulls. If Mars in Aries is the beserker, Mars in Scorpio is in the shadows slitting throats. And as Pluto rules Scorpio, things are dialed up to eleven. This energy is also explosive, but only under certain conditions. There is an extreme amount of endurance imbued here. But when things finally reach their last straw, all that inward energy detonates and takes out everything around it.

So, how do these three planets act when they are together? Well, badly. Usually. Except that sometimes, at just a particular moment, it is exactly what the doctor ordered. The action (Mars) of breaking things up (Uranus) to let things die and be reborn (Pluto) is needed to bring down a corrupt system. And this is precisely why Argentina elected The Madman. He is the wrench in the gears of Argentine politics, and quite possibly some gears in global politics as well. When things are overgrown with weeds and vines and infected with rot, you need a forest fire to clean things out and sanitize the wound. The trick is not to destroy everything, but rather, just enough to bring the system back to life again in a new way.
And now to bring things to a close. We have the final three aspects of Venus conjunct Neptune, both opposite to Saturn. This triplicate is mostly about illusion and harsh reality.
Venus conjunct Neptune is a dreamy placement. Venus is what we attract, she is money, and she is leisure. All the things an elegant woman represents. Neptune is considered the higher octave of Venus. He is illusion, delusion, drugs, divine inspiration, and spirituality. When you combine them, you have someone who is highly romantic. They are idealists at heart. In fact, this may be what is responsible for Milei’s faith in anarcho-capitalism. On a personal note, I believe anarcho-capitalism (or AnCap, as it’s known) to be just as much of a pipe dream as communism is. The conditions necessary for these two political systems to exist are predicated on facets of human nature that cannot exist, or are incompatible with it, as it were. AnCap and communism require humans to work together in ways that history shows we simply cannot. We can dream about being in a perfected state, but this is simply not the case. And therein lies the Venus conjunct Neptune aspect. And it is this aspect that often leads to disappointment.
However, both of these planets are opposite to Saturn. Here is the sobering influence that this exact combo needs. Saturn is stricture and limitations; he’s here to kick your head out of the clouds when you take it too far. But with the opposition, we have a seesawing effect that is never quite right. It tries to find a balance, but can never seem to do so. Forever in an oscillation between these two energies, we often find extremes of both. However, as we live in the real world, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Like a game of Jenga, when the tower leans too far to one side, we stack more weight onto the other. And the beauty of this method for Argentina at present is that they’re starting again from square one. Remember, Milei is here to bring it all down in a blaze of glory to start anew.

So here’s to Javier Milei, a toast to his grand experiment. The first libertarian to ever hold such a high office, to lead a nation under libertarian principles. Let us pray he is a guiding light of freedom in a world bogged down by censorship, big government, corruption, and tyranny. And if he succeeds, may some of that light shine down upon all other nations of the Earth.
