GOP politics surrounding the 2024 primary have been a wild ride, to say the least. Vivek Ramaswamy has appeared to spark quite a chord amongst the people, although as a mainstream outsider. Early on, Ron Desantis was clearly gearing up as a choice contender, but as a result of his feuds with Donald Trump, has burned through most of his goodwill and political capital. The establishment favorite is plainly Nikki Haley, who the media prop up in their constant puff pieces, with many asserting that she may be the favorite for both parties with an eye for replacing Joe Biden’s unmistakable blunders. But, who is Vivek Ramaswamy in all this? And does he have the ability to go the distance in American politics?

Coming out of nowhere, Vivek has been a force unto himself for the last year. He made his fortune in the pharmaceutical sector, amassing a net worth of $950 million, just shy of billionaire status. And it is this tie to “big pharma” that makes many queasy and suspicious, drawing parallels regarding candidates such as Barak Obama as political plants and begging the question as to whether Vivek is as well.

He has adopted a style that none of the other candidates have the stones for. He backs Donald Trump in his court cases, previous decisions, and envisioned policies. But more importantly, Vivek engages the audience of town halls and debates without script and rigid preparation. He openly answers questions and doesn’t shy away from being direct. While his answers have certainly not been perfect, it is his willingness to be sincere that is winning many voters over.

But enough of his background, let us get on with the astrology! And with the bang befitting a good beginning, Vivek possesses the Sun conjunct Mercury, conjunct Mars. This triple conjunction is exactly the kind of configuration you would want as a “go-getter.”

Sun conjunct Mercury, as we have covered many times in previous articles, is the power and energy of the Sun infused with Mercury, the thinking and logos of the personality. The Sun lends its strength to all in the solar system, giving it warmth and light. Mercury is a quick and nimble planet, as is true of Mercury the Roman god, with winged feet and acting as messenger to all the gods. He is the psychopomp of all beings, escorting them to the nether realms of our Heaven, Earth, Hell, and beyond. So with the Sun and Mercury together, Mercury is supercharged. He is given all the life and energy he needs to do his thing, talking and thinking without exhaustion, constantly conjuring up new ideas and bringing them forth into the world.

And with Sun conjunct Mars, we see a similar infusion of energy. But Mars is his own kind of power and brings it wherever he goes. When they are together, you see someone quick to action, sometimes without thinking. And in that same vein, they can be quick to anger, but are just as quick to apologize. But a man with Sun conjunct Mars is a nonstop action-adventure that never ends. They are someone who gets things done, end of sentence.

But remember it’s a triple conjunction, which means Mercury is conjunct Mars as well. When dry Mercury is conjunct hot mars, this is is an incredibly forward and fast thinker: Mercury on steroids. Literally. They will never back down from an argument, and are just as likely to start one. And perhaps more importantly, this comes with a confidence behind one’s ideas that imbues momentum force multiplier for making them into a reality

But nothing compares to this next placement: Pluto conjunct Midheaven. When I saw this, I was astounded. It has many manifestations, but they all center around one thing– power in the outer world. As a personal note, I like Vivek, but this position makes me worry a bit. Not because any particular astrological aspect is inherently bad, but because this one is always shared by people of great power, and it will be up to Vivek to make sure it is used wisely.

To give one a deeper understanding of my unease, there is another extremely powerful world leader that has Pluto on the Midheaven. In fact, we have covered him before in an article here on the “The Astrology Of” series. His name is Vladimir Putin. Yes, Vivek and Putin share one of the most frightening natal positions in all of astrology. But there is one small difference, and that is that Vivek’s placement is much looser than Putin’s in its orb, and it resides in the ninth house rather than the tenth. We are possibly lucky in this respect. However, one thing we can be absolutely certain of, is that Vivek is destined to be one of the most powerful men in politics.

Pluto often draws the ire and negative energies of the world around them. It is projected onto Pluto, because that’s who he is. Pluto is the god of the underworld, he is the god that other gods do not wish to see, sheltered away in his kingdom of Hell, not sharing space with his brothers and sisters on Mount Olympus. His name was even considered bad luck in ancient times. It was similar to an invocation that would bring an early death to the person unwise enough to be so reckless in saying it. Hence, we all see Pluto as the very face of death. We hide ourselves from him, run from him, and even pretend he doesn’t exist for as long as possible. So wherever Pluto is in our birth charts is where others and ourselves will project negativity.

So, with Pluto on high for all to see in the natal chart, the people of the world will see him as powerful, and possibly not as a power that they like. Then they will heap their negativity upon him to make themselves feel better, whether he deserves it or not. As such, we must be on watch to see if the possessor of this placement does indeed deserve our projections, or if they are merely the parts of ourselves we don’t like. Vivek, will embody worldly power, so let us be vigilant but also fair.

But let’s add some extra oomph to that already potent aspect. Venus, goddess of wealth, attraction, and beauty is in a naturally flowing trine to Pluto, and the Midheaven, simultaneously. On its own, Venus trine Midheaven can bring a certain amount of fame to the native. But with Pluto on the Midheaven as well, it’s near indisputable (and that’s without the other aspects to the Midheaven Vivek has). Venus trine Pluto is an intense placement, usually giving the person smoldering good looks and a highly sexualized aura. They’re able to cut through appearances as well, getting to the bottom of things. But it also tends to draw “intense” experiences in the romantic life. Sometimes this means obsessive partners, or partners who themselves are “intense.” It’s difficult to describe exactly what we mean by “intense,” but if you know, you know.

On the inner plane, Vivek has Moon opposite Saturn. All Moon-Saturn placements are considered challenging, even the easy ones. The opposition tends to cause a see-saw effect, with the possessor bouncing back and forth between melancholy and a more mundane emotional state. This is a balance that will take a lifetime to master and it creates loneliness along the way.

But, helping to ease that suffering is Mars opposite Jupiter, and this one is a windfall to possess. This placement creates luck and exuberance that keeps the native leaping from one experience to another without losing that inner drive. Like an antelope vaulting over their problems, this person keeps a positive, sunny demeanor and is always sure it’s going to work out.

And then there’s Sun and Mercury both in a square to Saturn. These are challenging, but tend to be in a good way. Saturn will have his discipline, come hell or high water. This goes for all beings, though this comes more easily to some than others. And when Saturn squares your ego and thinking, he requires you pay attention. While this can cause some pessimism in youth, this normally works itself out and forces the person to become acquainted with the structure of Saturn and adapt to it. This, in turn, creates a person who is prepared and likes their order. They don’t miss deadlines and they don’t like a mess. So when you come to the boss’s meeting, you better have your presentation right or you’re going to hear about it.

Yet, Mars in a trine to Uranus is a bit of the opposite, and that creates dynamism. Maybe even a little touch of the genius. Mars trine Uranus is the actions of the unexpected. Vivek likes to keep people on their toes. This position makes the native prefer to try novel solutions to problems, and that can keep them at the forefront of innovation. As soon as you think he’s going to go right, he swerves left. So you can never count this person out. You never know what they’re going to bring to the fight.

Then, there’s Venus opposite Neptune. This has a reputation for creating dreamers, and even people with low self-esteem. This is because Neptune is illusion, and Venus is what we attract. With this kind of influence, you have someone who builds things up in their mind only to be let down, especially in matters of love and romance. However, I think Vivek has enough stabilizing aspects that this doesn’t keep him down for long. He prepares in advance and knows how to evolve when things don’t work out. If this weren’t true, he would hardly be the pharma magnate that he has become.

Before we end, I would like to mention Jupiter square Midheaven. This is a pure fame position. Jupiter makes things bigger, and the square amplifies them as well. Many people are very famous with a Jupiter-Midheaven contact all by itself, no matter what the angle of the aspect. Yet, there are several other astrological reasons for Vivek’s fame already present without this one. So, this is the kind of thing that creates ultra fame. Big enough to be president, even…

And so, we walk into the Republican primary on this very day. With Trump leading the polls by such large margins, it isn’t likely to see Vivek coming out as the nominee for the general election in 2024. But that doesn’t mean that it’s the last we’ve seen of him. In fact, I believe he is just warming up. And if the stars are correct, he has a powerhouse future in politics ahead of him. But, only time will tell.
