Over the week the Olympics took a down turn from the excitement of Team USA bringing the total medal wins to 100 medals in the Paris Games 2024. Team USA Gymnastics were brought to court, Olympic courts, by Team Romania and the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) after Jordan Chiles coaches filed an inquiry after the scoring of Romanian Ana Barbosu. The Romanian gymnast has come out via her social media feed to share her statement. It is unfair the regulations at the event that day did not meet their requirements and robbed Team Romania from the podium. The bigger question from Americans is, did she have a higher score or was the score just changed too late? And if it was changed, why was it missed in the first place?
Chiles faced a significant setback when the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled that she must return her bronze medal from the floor exercise at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Initially awarded the medal after a successful appeal regarding her score, the ruling determined that the appeal was submitted outside the allowed timeframe, reverting her placement from third to fifth.
Gina Chiles, Jordan’s momma, came out on her X feed to talk about more racism being thrown their direction. Basketball star Angel Reese and her mother have also recently came out showing receipts of the types of comments and threats they consistently receive.
