Imagine having a business you love! Where every morning you wake up and you are excited to work on your craft. When you lie on your pillow, and close your eyes, you dream about it. Dreaming of ways you can improve and increase sales! It doesn’t feel like work or a job. It feels like the true feeling of happiness!
That warm, fuzzy feeling of being excastic over your business is called passion. Passion is what drives you. Something that makes you happy. You are so interested in it, that continuing learning about it will never bore you. You can talk about it all day! When you are doing what love time flies by because you are engrossed in it.
That is one of the first questions you have to ask yourself when you know you want to be an entrepreneur. What is your passion? When you find out what that is, your life will be so fulfilling. Whatever it is you love doing, you can make it your business! Still don’t know quite what your passion is? Well, let’s dive right in and figure this out together!
There is a couple of ways we can come at this. First, ask yourself is there something that you already love doing? Do you enjoy sewing or writing? Do you love to do hair? Enjoy doing your friends makeup and lashes for a girls’ night out? Baking cookies and cakes for your loved ones bring you so much joy? Yoga has worked wonders on you body and mind and now you want to conduct your own classes? Love to plan parties? That was easy right? That is your passion!
Still thinking? Well, let’s try this:
What is something that you loved to do as a child? What made your eyes light up back then? Was it horses? Open up a ranch. Teach people how to horseback ride. Making things with clay? Make your own vases or coffee cups. Put on shows for your parents because you loved to sing? Make jingles for commercials. Whatever it was that made you smile as a kid, you can make it into your own business.
Who do you want to help? Do you want to help underprivileged children? Find homes for abused animals? Help companies market their business? Help people organize their homes? Help people lose weight? Once you figure who you want to help and the problem you will help them solve, BOOM, you now have a business idea that you are passionate about!
If none of these work, you can start with your “why”. Your why is your purpose. Why you do what you do. Then go to your “how”. How you are going to get your idea heard and seend. And next is your “what”. What you do? For example:
Why (Purpose)- To help people express themselves through art.
How (Your Strength) – Sharing different art techniques. Teaching others how to draw.
What (What You Do)- Teach art classes. Open an art boutique. Blog about art.
Once you find your passion, that one thing that makes you come alive. Gets you out of bed everyday and makes you feel like you are making a difference; you have found what so many are yearning to find. It is not something that will happen overnight. Take your time. The world is waiting for you!
