I’m not going to sugar coat it and act like it’s easy. I have dabbled in a few businesses and sometimes felt like a huge failure. I had to get up, dust myself off, and try again. Now sure there are some people, by God’s everlasting grace, become overnight successes. They get lucky and strike gold the first time they show the world what great idea they have. I wish we could all be that lucky. So, the question is, do you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur? Is entrepreneurship for you?

Go over the questions below to see if you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur:

Are you a good decision maker? Being an entrepreneur, you have to oftentimes make decisions on your own. Not only that, you have to make decisions quickly that will affect your business. You have to sometimes make quick decisions under pressure and make the best decision for your business.

Are you a go getter? It will be up to you and only you to have the initiative to get up and go! To organize your day and complete your to-do list is all up you. You won’t have anyone looking over your shoulder to make sure you get things done.

Can you play many different roles? Before you dream turns into a reality and you are running a full fledge company, you will end up being the marketer, book keeper, receptionist, accountant, etc. You will wear the hat on all the moving parts of your business when you first start out. Unless you have some friends or family that will help out.

Are you a planner? If you do not have good organizational skills, you better Google how to be organized and take it to heart. You HAVE to be organized in order to be an entrepreneur. There is no way if you can keep up with deadlines, scheduling blog posts, appointments, vlogs, etc. It can get overwhelming if you do not have it all planned out.

Are you creative? How creative are you? Are you always thinking of cool ideas for businesses? Got a new way to solve a problem?

How motivated are you? It takes a lot of passion and internal drive to run a business. Are you passionate about your service? Are you willing to go the extra mile to make your dreams come true hell or high water? Are you willing to keep going when your first pitch declines your services? Having a rough outer skin will get you far in this business. It will help you persevere in the tough times.

Do you have the stamina to build your brand and keep your day job? This is one is a kicker. So many entrepreneurs who have “made it” started out with doing their full time job and having their side hustle. It take a lot of hard work to turn that side hustle into your only job and make enough income to support yourself and family. Do you have the stamina to work sometimes sixty plus hours a week? Thank God for Starbucks!
