Mental Health Stigmas On Social Media Continue Despite Americans Taking Their Lives

Yesterday I was taken back by the news of the officer in Louisiana who took his own life. I run a Black mental health podcast and I’m producing a new episode but I’m stuck. It’s called ‘Clear and Present Danger’ because I am trying to describe the emergent situations facing Black Americans in 2021. Why are there stigmas when everyone is going through it? I went to look at the definition of stigma.

Stigma- a mark of disgrace associated with a particular circumstance, quality, or person.

So if we’re putting disgrace behind medical issues then how are we supposed to heal?
