By MARINE JABBOUR
I cannot gaze at a painting of no shadow
I belong to a sphere that grips me
As paintings hold their colors
As wall embrace their art
Your arm is of no importance
Tell me why I am overwhelmed with cruel grief when coming back to the human universe, where:
LOVE is different
Giving is different
Fear is different
Death is different
I despise their expressions
I scorn their dogmas
Those who can give a hundred thousand descriptions of love, can’t smile for a lost wolf
Their medicine is conditional
Their heart is conditioned,
Take your love away from me
Take your arms away from me
I sit down and listen to their rational debates about feelings,
I want to be a color, tell the painting about a missing wanderer, my love
Take your arm, words, love away from me
I flee existence every day
Go away
Go away every day
