Failure is not your enemy, it is your friend. This might seem very strange, yet it is true. Friends are fond of counselling us against making a bad decision. Of course, when our decision goes wrong, you will see their faces, saying, didn’t I tell you? Those faces are like a mirror, reflecting how wrong you have gone.

Failure is a perspective

Failure is a darling friend

Failure is a friend telling you that you have not done it right. It is saying, do it again, you can do it better. Of course, it doesn’t want you to do a mediocre work. Starting all over again, gives you the opportunity to put things right, and bring out the best out if your work.

According to Henry Ford, “Failure is simply an opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.

Thomas Edison, the great inventor was an example of someone who stepped on his failure onto success. He tried 2000 times to make a filament bulb. A reporter asked him whether Edison wasted his times in his efforts. Edison said, “No, I just found thousands ways in which I could not make the filament bulb”.

Failure is not the end, but the beginning. Failure can give you several opportunities to try again, and again. Each time failure comes, reflecting on how wrong you have gone, and intelligently making use of the opportunity to try again, will eventually lead you to success.

Success is a thin veil behind failure. You just need to put up a little more pressing to get behind the veil.

Discouragement is the enemy.

Discouragement is the enemy, not failure. Discouragement entices you by giving you several reasons not to try it again. Sometimes, you might need just a blow to burst into success, but discouragement takes all that away.

Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!
But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips. Job 2: 9-10

Failure can be a trial that eventually leads to success. Job made us understand that failure is a matter of perspective. You can change your perspective about failure so that you can learn from it and move forward.

Failure as many people views it is not the opposite of success. Failure is an important part of success because repeated efforts in a new intelligent lead to success.

In fact, failure gives you a better point of view through which you can match your way into success.

Procrastination is another enemy.

You procrastinate when you push forward what you are supposed to do now till later. Procrastination is an enemy that is disguising as friend. It gives you a false idea of a time that will be more comfortable and convenient for you to do your task. Procrastination has led many people to their ruins.

You can overcome this enemy by scheduling your task and sticking to it. Focus on your task at a time, do not try to do many tasks at a time. Focus on one task, and ensure that you finish it. Then move to the next task on your schedule.

Failure as a stepping stone to success

In Genesis Chapter 37, we read the story of Joseph the dreamer. His brothers wanted to make him a failure by killing his dream. Not knowing they were only helping him to fulfil his dreams.

Joseph went through many trials, those trials were coming to him as if all had ended. But, he saw his trials as success shrouded in failure.

Each time you fail at something, see the failure as a stepping stone to success. Each step you take, each turn you make, and each move you make, are taking you closer to success.

Success is achievable by moving forward, not by quitting. Failure shows you a way forward by evaluating your mistakes.

Perspective is all that matters

The option to either relent in the face of trial or to press on, depends on your perspective. If you see failure as an hindrance, you quickly relent. But, when you see failure as a stepping stone to success, you will eventually achieve success.

And God sent me before you to preserve a posterity for you in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.

So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt. Genesis 45: 7-8

Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid for am I in the place of God?
But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good; in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.” Genesis 50: 19-20

Joseph’s story teaches us to see the hands of God working for our good in every trial or failure that we encounter, (Romans 8: 28).

Failure is not the final outcome, but a means to success.

Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.” Winston S. Churchill

Failure is not your final outcome. Failure is your beginning of a new success journey.

In conclusion, it is how you see the failure that matters. Your mind is everything!

If you have been programmed by life and circumstances to view failure as your enemy or the end of your journey to success. You need to reprogram yourself and set yourself up for success.

God has designated you for success. It is your redemption right in Christ Jesus.
