Jordan Michelle offers a pop-punk anthem for the heartbroken hopeless romantics of the world with “Never Date A Gemini,” a track where she regrets not listening to those around her when they warned her about a guy who wound up behind bad news. Despite her ex running around saying she’s “just another psycho,” she knows her truth and refuses to let him get the upper hand.
“The story and the title are kind of separate,” Jordan tells TREMG. “Obviously, the song has nothing to do with Geminis or their traits at all. But I think it’s such a relatable thing for people to be like ‘oh, Gemini men are such assholes’ or, like, ‘I dated a Scorpio, never again!’ So I just thought that was a really funny thing to put in there, like ‘fuck, you were right.’ The funny thing is, I’m currently dating a Gemini, but I’m glad he’s a good sport, because ‘Never Date a Libra’ just doesn’t hit as hard.”
“Never Date A Gemini” features drums by Tosh The Drummer, who you might know from his work with artists like Machine Gun Kelly (live shows), Lil Nas X (BBC Live Lounge), and jxdn! He and Jordan have a creative chemistry that really shines through on this track, and the results are simply electrifying.
“I love working with Tosh for so many reasons,” Jordan shares. “The obvious being he’s insane at drums, like not of this Earth. But he’s also just the best, I can’t say enough good things about him. I’m so happy to call him my friend. As for who he’s worked with and who I’ve been in close proximity with, it’s so humbling and I’m incredibly grateful!”
With every song she releases, Jordan steps into brand new territory and pushes herself to be the best artist she can be. Songs like “Never Date A Gemini” are a testament to her commitment to growing as a musician, refining her narrative, and having some fun along the way.
“I’m actually in awe at how much I’ve continued to grow and so quickly,” she admits. “I just feel like I’m continuing to step into myself and trust my instincts. I also feel like with anything, the more you build the muscle, the more it grows. I’m really excited to see what happens next.”

Congrats on your new single, “Never Date A Gemini!” How does it feel to finally share the song with the world?
Thank you!! I’m so happy it’s finally out! There’s some songs that I write and I’m just like, “Oh my god, I need to put this out yesterday” so I’m really excited that it’s finally here!
What does the song “Never Date A Gemini” mean to you?
The story and the title are kind of separate. Obviously, the song has nothing to do with Geminis or their traits at all. But I think it’s such a relatable thing for people to be like “oh Gemini men are such assholes” or like “I dated a Scorpio, never again!” So I just thought that was a really funny thing to put in there, like “fuck, you were right.” The funny thing is, I’m currently dating a Gemini, but I’m glad he’s a good sport, because “Never Date a Libra” just doesn’t hit as hard.
Is there a certain lyric on “Never Date A Gemini” that you’re particularly proud of?
It’s somewhere in between the beginning, ‘They told me never date a Gemini, if I’m honest I faked it the whole damn time.’ I was like ‘holy shit’ when I came up with that. I think it’s just so relatable. I also love the ‘bitch, I’ll show you psycho,’ towards the end because it just felt super raw and honest. Tickles me every time.
“Never Date A Gemini” is a collab with Tosh The Drummer, who has worked with the likes of Lil Nas X, Machine Gun Kelly, and jxdn. What was it like getting to work with Tosh, especially when you count MGK as an influence on your music?
I love working with Tosh for so many reasons. The obvious being he’s insane at drums, like not of this Earth. But he’s also just the best, I can’t say enough good things about him. I’m so happy to call him my friend. As for who he’s worked with and who I’ve been in close proximity with, it’s so humbling and I’m incredibly grateful!
In addition to music, you run your own makeup and skincare line, By Jordan Michelle! How do you balance the brand with your music, and do you find inspiration in different places for new products versus your songs?
Finding balance would be the same as finding it anywhere else, it’s a lot to manage but I find a way haha. The truth is I’m very lucky to have the support system that I do. As far as finding inspiration for my products and music, it’s kinda just sharing my experience – that’s the common denominator. With my products (and the ones in the pipeline), it really comes down to what are my favorite products that help me live this “rockstar lifestyle” and then sharing them with others. Similarly with my music, generally I either have something I want to say, or a story I want to tell, or an emotion I want to process, so I put it in a song.
How do you feel you’ve grown as an artist since debuting with “Tear Me Down” in 2021?
I’m actually in awe at how much I’ve continued to grow and so quickly. I just feel like I’m continuing to step into myself and trust my instincts. I also feel like with anything, the more you build the muscle, the more it grows. I’m really excited to see what happens next.
For anyone who isn’t familiar with your music already, which of your songs would you recommend to them to get a feel for who you are as an artist?
That’s so hard to say and I think about that a lot because, of course, most of what I’m working on lately isn’t out yet. I would say that taking into consideration that the older something is, the more space between me and my work exists.
We at TREMG love getting to know new artists who haven’t gotten the success or attention they deserve. Who are some of your favorite underrated artists at the moment?
Hmm, that’s a tricky question because I guess underrated is relative? Lately, I’m obsessed with Loveless, Upsahl, Girlfriends, and Mod Sun. They all definitely are getting noticed but for sure deserve more attention! I’ve also been working with some super cool artists who I’m excited to see do some big things like Rouxx, Sk8, and LostInVegas.
Is there anything else you’d like to mention that the questions didn’t touch on?
Nope! Thank you!
